    2. Dress/ Attire, we will all wear our glasses upside down in school, to see other students, and teachers reactions.
    3. Because people wear glasses to see, yet no one said there is a specific way to wear them, and the glasses will still serve the same purpose.
    4. People will be confused, and probably ask why we are wearing our glasses upside down. Confusion will probably be the major reaction.

    2. We will be violating the language social norm. We are going to talk in third person.
    3. This norm is important because we've been taught to talk in first person. It makes us possibly come across as uneducated.
    4. People will say "Why are you talking like that?" "What's wrong with you?". We also think we are going to get strange looks from the people around us.

    2. We will be violating the norm of talking in the first person by speaking in the third person. We will violate this in school when we talk to people.
    3. It is important because it is grammatically correct to speak in the first person and it is how we group up learning how to speak.
    4. People might laugh or be confused. They may ask us why we're talking like that. We think that the major reaction will be that people will be confuse.

    * Define norm you will violate(how/when): Everytime someone goes for a hug or shake of the hand, we throw up deuces

Why is this norm important/how is it used as a mechanism of social control?: its polite and the norm for greeting people
Hypothesis: What possible reactions might you see? What do you predict will be the major reaction?: Confusion and possibly offended

    2. We will be violating the social norm by wearing four pony tails in our hair. We will do this at the mall, with our friends, and at school.
    3. It is important because girls try and make their hair look good to make them look attractive.
    4. We believe that people are going to just stare and be confused. Some people may ask questions about why our hair looks that way.

    2. wear clothes inside-out. we will do this at school and at home

    3. people will think of us as slobs, like we don't are about our appearance. it violates certain control that other people have on our appearance.

    4. people will be confused when we refuse to fix our clothes. we believe this because as a norm people wear their clothes the way that they are meant to and people will get confused when we do not follow that 'rule'

    2. We will be violating the language norm by talking in a high or low pitch voice.
    3. People expect a normal tone, instead of a high or low pitch, so they will be taken back. People are not used to having random outburst of a different voice, they usually control their voice.
    4. We think people will give a funny look and be confused, ask what is wrong with you. Maybe being laughing because its not normal.

    2. The norm we are breaking is wearing a lot of makeup and looking good in school. We will wear makeup, do our hair, and look pretty during the school day.

    3. It's important because it break the conformity of what IHA students wear in school. It is normal for IHA students to come to school not wearing makeup or looking good.

    4. We think people will give us looks and ask us why we are making makeup and looking good. They probably will think we are weird for trying to look good in good especially if we are not going somewhere after.

Emily Whelan, Meaghan Day, and Kristina Mertz

    1. Define norm you will violate.
The norm we will be violating is when someone asks us a question we make a weird noise and then answer it.

    2. Describe how/when you will violate.
When someone asks a question we will answer with a weird noise and then say the answer.

    3. Why is this norm important/how is it used as a mechanism of social control?
When someone answers a question they expect the answer and nothing else with it. Also in our age we shouldn't be fooling around especially on this "immature" level.

    4. Hypothesis: What possible reactions might you see? What do you predict will be the major reaction?
The possible reactions we might see are weird faces, laughter, and people asking us "what?" The major reaction will probably be laughter or just trying to ignore it especially if it's with a teacher.

we plan to violate the social norm of language by singing happy birthday at random times in conversation.
This norm is important because it allows us to communicate in similar ways.
People will probably stop talking and stare. Other people in other conversations may even join in if they think it is someones birthday. This could cause a disruption in conversation.
